BODY ARMOR EXPIRATION:
Why does body armor expire? The answer lies in the gradual degradation of the materials and fibers used in its construction. Over time, this decay can impact the armor's effectiveness, potentially compromising its ability to stop threats. While some believe expired armor retains its protective capacity, the risk involved in trusting compromised materials is significant.

DANGERS OF USING EXPIRED BODY ARMOR:
Can expired body armor still be used? Technically, yes, but it comes with a crucial question: are you willing to stake your safety on potentially compromised gear? Although some tests show expired armor performing adequately, these results shouldn't be taken for granted. Armor's primary function is to save lives, and reliability is paramount. Relying on expired armor is a risky wager on your well-being. Most manufacturers, including Hyperion Armor, recommend a 5-year lifespan for their products, offering ample time to replace them before expiration, thus ensuring optimum performance when it's needed most.

PLATE CARRIERS WEAR & TEAR:
The carrier, tasked with securing the armor to your body, typically bears the brunt of wear and tear over years of use, and thus may need replacement. We advise those who frequently use their armor to inspect their carriers regularly for any signs of damage. If any wear is detected that could compromise the armor's performance, consider a timely replacement. For those who use their armor less frequently and store it appropriately, the existing carrier could suffice when updating to new armor. At Hyperion Armor, we stress the importance of maintaining every component of your armor system for optimal protection.
